The construction of BOHO’s flagship student accommodation Scotway House began early 2018 and was completed Summer 2019, ready to welcome its first residents for the academic year beginning that September. The £33m GDV development brought more than 300 jobs to Glasgow and employed several local companies to complete the project.
The 399-bed accommodation consists of a mix of spacious en-suite rooms, studios and one-bedroom apartments, with an attached building dedicated just to studying and socialising. The three-level study and social building contains a laundry, gym, garden courtyards, roof terrace, gaming area, cinema room, kitchen/diner, trust shop and multiple study booths for private and group study.
Since opening, Scotway House and the BOHO brand have gone from strength to strength with the building proving extremely popular with Glasgow students and selling out every year. Scotway House is instantly recognisable for its vibrant and innovative interior design packed with colour, stylish furnishings, neon signs and greenery.
BOHO was the first student provider in the UK to install sophisticated IoT technology in an attempt to combat the climate crisis and reduce our carbon footprint. The technology increased efficiency for daily operations and maintenance, as well as creating huge cost savings on energy.
We’re very proud to say that the success of BOHO and Scotway House has been recognised by others and in line with our Investment Strategy, Scotway House was sold in April 2022.
We have celebrated many successes with Scotway House however it is time for BOHO to move on and focus on other exciting projects which we can’t wait to share very soon!
